CCID Conference Gets A Visit From the SpanTran: TEC Team

Posted on Feb 26, 2019 by SpanTran

For the first time, SpanTran: The Evaluation Company attended the 2019 CCID (Community Colleges for International Development) Conference, in San Diego, earlier this month. CCID's mission is to inculcate the desire for internationalization to members; these members include community colleges, student insurance companies, study abroad organizations, and foreign academic institutions. As employers are increasingly seeking graduates with multi-cultural experience, the push for global engagement in academic environments is what CCID strives to promote. Employees from our New York and Los Angeles office traveled to downtown San Diego and exhibited from February 1st-3rd at the Westin Gaslamp Quarter.

SpanTran: TEC was also the only NACES-member credential evaluation company in attendance. On the first day of the conference, the exhibit hall was filled with attendees and guests seeking to network and learn more about international education and global opportunities, such as study abroad programs and international internships. The evening concluded with a keynote address from Deesha Dyer, a former Social Secretary in the Barack Obama administration, who attended community college herself, and currently seeks to assist young, minority women in their study abroad pursuits.

San Diego is one of the fastest growing cities in the United States due to its agreeable year-round climate, its booming healthcare industry, and strong educational background. Many universities including the UC system have campuses in the area, as well as a strong community college network. San Diego is also the busiest port of entry into the United States as it shares a border with Tijuana, Mexico. Don't be surprised if you hear Spanish spoken just as often as English on the city streets!

SpanTran: TEC has a long and proven track record with evaluating Mexican credentials from the Bachillerato level to the Doctorate level. Are you based in Southern California and need an evaluation of your degrees from Mexico, or any other country? Feel free to apply online on our website, or visit our office in Los Angeles, only a 2.5 hour leisurely drive from San Diego!
